Chris Brown’s Valentine’s Day Release: “In My Zone”

February 14, 2010

Unlike his competition for Most Anticipated Album of 2009—Rihanna’s “Rated R”—Chris Brown’s third album “Graffiti” flopped in record sales.

However, with the advice from fellow rappers and peers, the multi-time Grammy nominee issued a mixtape—a free “album” filled with remixes to hit songs and unreleased tracks (available online and in “convenience” stores)—to hold fans off until a better album is released.

His word of mouth release on Valentine’s Day is titled “In My Zone: Gangsta Grillz” and is critically-acclaimed by DJs and fans. The most controversial song on the mixtape, by far, is Brown’s remix to Trey Songz’s “I Invented Sex,” titled “I Invented H**d,” in which Brown recalls his oral fixations.

This is not Brown’s first mixtape, however. If fans visit DatPiff.com, they can browse through a list of all the mixtapes that Brown has lent his voice to, including “In My Zone.”
